The metaverse is a vast place to explore. There are people who dedicate their virtual lives completely to the exploration of new sims and keeping up with changes to old ones. I do have those restless moments when I do want to wander about and soak in the creative energy of a new place. I went to Oyster Bay recently, just to see what it looked like as a blank canvas for Morris. He is has taken down one creative venture to move on to the next. I’m not so adventurous. I want to play with learning to build and be a part of the community I’ve fallen in love with. This is the reason that you will most often find me in Avilion, in the Hinterlands enjoying this favorite place under the Japanese Red Maple and in a gazebo built by Lady Serenity Sieyes.

While walking to my favorite place in the Hinterlands I found Lady Yxes Delacroix’s quiet place in the Hinterlands when I happened upon this reading pillow at the base of a tree. It’s only natural that she would find a special quiet place to hide away from her busy life. Melynn has been a fan of Open Mic, which Lady Yxes is an integral part of. She kindly offered me the use of this spot when I wanted to!

The newest addition to Avilion is Vale, which is currently still under some construction and awaiting new shop owners. Shop space is available to Avilion Order members of Guardian status. See avilionorder.com for rental information. Don’t know why Lady Juniper thinks is a place to keep her chicken!

There are a lot changes going in my home land of Avilion. This is the new Forest of L’Renden, home to the Drow of Avilion. L’Renden was formally cavernous, but is now hidden amongst huge trees. The Drow celebrate Eilistrae here in the temple. You love Avilion for it’s beauty and romance, but you have taken it for granted. You need to see the evolving history for yourself!

Visiting the Support for Healing sim, where I attended an Anxiety Support Group chat this past Thursday night. I haven’t slept much this past week and, ironically, I couldn’t stay awake for the whole meeting. Today, I just came back to explore enjoy the peaceful landscaping. I will learn a little more about what the sim has to offer.

You know what is funny about depression?  I cry while I’m watching a movie that isn’t sad and I get pissed off at dirty dishes!

I don’t have an easy way of seeing logic and reason. When the future (or present) seems bleak, I have great difficulty making my thoughts focus on that period of time when I can feel content again. I don’t always even aim for happiness, just a time when I am not awakened in the middle of the night by crushing anxiety. The anxiety that makes me unsure of my ability to care for my family and makes me feel as if I haven’t done a single thing right. The crushing fright that defies all reason, logic and has been persistent throughout my life.

My virtual existence has been a fantasy and I enjoy every moment that I can navigate around the obstacles in indulging in it. I have let a little reality seep into it during the last few days. I have been peeking into the group notices and meeting places of the depression support groups available in SL™. I have taken part in online support groups before and I have found them to be really helpful.  I may break my own rule and allow a little reality to permeate my fantasy life.

To cheer my little virtual existence I added a few flowers to my tiny little piece of the grid.

I also added a little friend who will keep me company.  Her name is Beignet.

I’m writing on a borrowed computer because mine is in technical emergency right now.  I expect to get it back tomorrow.  OROE was out of town for the weekend, now this. What’s an avatar to do?
